How to connect Happ VPN on Android in 2 minutes

Install Happ from Google Play, APKPure, Uptodown, or the official APK. Paste the subscription link and turn the VPN on. Step by step, including the QR code. 3 days free, no card required.
To connect Happ VPN on Android, install Happ from Google Play or from an APK file, paste the subscription link, and turn the profile on. It usually takes a couple of minutes.
When you need this
A phone keeps joining other people’s networks: café Wi-Fi, a hotel, an airport, a coworking space. On an open network the access-point owner and others on the same network can see which sites you contact. A VPN encrypts all of the phone’s traffic up to the server, so the connection stays protected on any network, and work services do not drop when you switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
CHEBA VPN’s client is Happ, and the protocol is VLESS. You do not assemble a key by hand. The account on chebavpn.com has a subscription link, and the same link can be shown as a QR code. That link is what you move into the app.
The service lists its servers as Sweden. After you sign up you have 3 days to try everything on your own phone. No card is required for the trial. The same link is added to a computer later. There is a separate guide for a PC: how to connect a VPN on Windows with Happ.
What to prepare
Check three things, or you will have to go back halfway through.
- Android. Google Play is convenient, but not required: if the store is missing, Happ is installed from an APK file
- a signed-in CHEBA VPN account
- the subscription link in full. Happ will not accept a cut-off ending
If you just created the account, open it and find the “Connection link” block. Next to it is a QR labeled “Subscription link”. Tap the code and the text is copied.
How to install Happ
Open Google Play and install Happ. The Android button on the service site goes to the app listing on Google Play. Wait until the install finishes, then open Happ from the home screen.
On the first launch Android asks for VPN permission. That is a system dialog shown by the phone itself. Without consent, traffic will not go through Happ. Allow it and return to the app.
If there is no listing, the store says the app is unavailable, or the phone has no Google services, Happ is installed from another catalog or from a file. How to do that is in the next section.
If Happ is not on Google Play
This happens because of the account region, a blocked store, or a phone without Google services. Huawei and Honor are common cases. The client is the same. Only the install path changes.
First try another store. Happ is on APKPure and Uptodown. Look for Happ itself, package com.happproxy. Do not install apps with a similar name. RuStore does not carry the client right now, and a search for “happ” returns unrelated programs.
If those catalogs are also unavailable, download the official Happ.apk from the project releases. It is the same client, one file for every phone, with no need to pick a CPU build. If GitHub will not open, use the mirror. The Happ_beta.apk file is not needed for a normal install.
How to install the APK
- Download Happ.apk from the link above. It is about 60 MB. A file of a few megabytes is almost certainly the wrong one.
- Open the downloaded file from the download notification or from the Downloads folder.
- Android asks for permission to install from this source, the browser or the file manager. Allow it. The prompt is one-time and comes from the phone itself.
- Tap Install and wait until it finishes.
- Open Happ from the home screen. From here the steps are the same as after a store install: the system VPN permission and the link from the account.
Take the file only from the links above. Do not download Happ from Telegram channels or random sites: the name is easy to fake, the Happ-proxy owner address on GitHub is not.
After a file install, updates will not arrive on their own. When you need a new version, download a fresh Happ.apk and install it over the current one.
How to add the subscription
The sequence is the same on any Android.
- In the account, copy the connection link, or open the QR on a second screen if you have nowhere to paste.
- In Happ, tap “+”. That adds a new configuration.
- Paste the link or scan the code with the camera.
- Tap the profile that appears and turn the connection on.
There is no separate “choose VLESS” step: the protocol is already inside the link. What that scheme is, and how it differs from older clients, is covered briefly in what VLESS is.
When the connection is up, a VPN icon appears at the top. Open the site you need again, not from a tab that was sitting there before you connected. You can confirm that traffic goes through the protected server on the IP check page. If the goal was video, there is a practical write-up next to this one: VPN for YouTube.
If it does not connect
The link will not add. There is an extra space in the clipboard, or the link was cut off mid-word. Go back to the account and copy it again. A QR is calmer in this sense: the camera reads the whole code, and your hands do not trim it.
The profile is there, and the connection dies immediately. Open the account and check the status. When the 3 trial days are over, Happ still shows the old configuration, but the server does not keep the session. You do not need a new link. You need active access.
The VPN icon is on, and the page will not open. Swipe the browser out of recent apps and open it again. Some apps keep the old channel. Turn the profile off in Happ, turn it on a second time, then reload the page.
The internet disappears entirely. Turn Happ off first and check Wi-Fi or mobile data without the VPN. If the network is alive without it, delete the configuration and add the link again. Also remember whether you tapped “Don’t allow” on the VPN request. After an Android update that question sometimes comes back. Until permission is granted, the icon in the app means nothing.
It drops on mobile data and holds on Wi-Fi. Connect again from your home network. If it is calm there, the link and Happ are fine, and the current carrier network is the one arguing. Try later, or from another Wi-Fi. You do not need to hunt for a new key because of this.
The phone blocks the APK install. Open Android security settings and allow installs from this source for the browser you used to download the file. Without that step the Install button will not appear.
Short version
On Android the chain is short: Happ from Google Play, from APKPure, Uptodown, or from the official APK, the link from the account, “+”, the phone’s permission, and the profile turned on. The 3 trial days are there so you can walk through this on your own device and open the site you need.
Questions
How do I connect Happ VPN on Android?
Install Happ from Google Play, copy the subscription link from your account, tap “+” in Happ, and turn the profile on. If the app is not in the store, install it from APKPure, Uptodown, or download the official Happ.apk. A couple of minutes is usually enough.
Happ is not on Google Play. What do I do?
Install it from APKPure or Uptodown. If those are empty too, download the official Happ.apk, allow installs from this source, and install the file. After that the account link is added the same way.
How do I add a VPN configuration to Happ on Android?
Open Happ, tap “+”, and paste the subscription link or scan the QR code from your account. There is no separate “choose VLESS” step — the protocol is already inside the link.
Can I do without Happ?
No. CHEBA VPN is set up for Happ. The link from the account goes into that app. The service guide does not use a separate client.
Is it one link for the phone and the computer?
Yes. You add it in Happ on Android and in Happ on Windows. How many devices you can keep online at once is written in the account, in the device limit.
Do you turn TUN on for the phone as well?
No. TUN mode in the guide is for Windows, so all of the computer’s traffic goes through the VPN. On Android the system permission and the connect button in Happ are enough.
There is no link right after sign-up?
Reload the account page. The block is called “Connection link”, with the subscription QR next to it. During the trial that link is the key. If it says no subscription was found, sign out and sign in again.
